Steel For Ballistic Protection
DYNAMIC ARMOR AR 500, AR 600, MIL-DTL 46100, MIL-A-12560 are high hardness ballistic steel plates that are available in thickness from 1/8” (3mm) through 2” (50mm). These specialty plate products from Titus Steel are specifically designed for light weight armor applications that require maximum resistance to ballistic threats. Dynamic Armor plates exhibit a superior combination of ballistic resistance, formability, weldability, toughness and flatness. Dynamic armor is produced using an optimum combination of carbon and alloy content to offer maximum resistance to ballistic penetration.
Each heat-lot is tested by independent laboratories to meet various international ballistic standards such as EN 1063 (BR), NIJ, UL 752, STANAG. Ballistic threat level is determined by thickness and grade.
Typical Dynamic Armor applications include: armor vehicles, security enclosures, bullet deflectors, cash-in-transit vehicles, targets, live fire training shoot houses, body armor insert plates.
